Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The New Yorker four-piece shell pack keeps a familiar drum layout in a smaller, lighter format. Multi-ply poplar shells bring a warm fundamental, smooth midrange, and controlled response; low-mass Teardrop Mini-Turret lugs reduce hardware weight while allowing the shells to vibrate more freely and maintain stable tuning. The kit comprises a 10 x 8 mounted tom, 13 x 12 floor tom, 14 x 5 snare, and 16 x 14 bass drum. Factory-installed Remo heads and an included bass-drum lifter round out the compact configuration.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Practice rooms or smaller venues where a full-size kit would occupy too much room.
- Recording sessions that call for a compact kit with a focused response.
- Moving between rehearsals, recording sessions, and small gigs with a lightweight drum setup.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Drummers who need a kit larger than this 10/13/14/16-inch configuration.
