Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The SYN-20IR and ENGL Powerball module form a 20W tube-driven modular head with three available channels: the amp’s clean channel and two module channels. The Powerball module is voiced for clean sounds through aggressive high gain, and each of its channels has independent gain, volume, three-band EQ, and tone-shaping switches. Channel-programmable onboard IRs, three selectable power-amp modes, a series effects loop, and up to 128 MIDI presets give the rig structured control over its available sounds.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Organizing clean and high-gain sounds across three channels, with independent controls on both Powerball module channels.
- Recallable rig setups using up to 128 programmable MIDI presets and channel-programmable onboard IRs.
Consider the trade-offs
