Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built for extended-range electric guitar work, the John Petrucci Majesty Premium Select 8 combines a mahogany neck-through design, alder wings and a maple top with a multi-scale ebony fingerboard. Its custom slanted Rainmaker and Dreamcatcher humbuckers work alongside piezo electronics, onboard gain boost and custom switching. The 25.5-to-27-inch multi-scale layout, 24 stainless-steel frets and slim C neck put its eight-string format at the center of the playing experience, while mono/stereo output options support separate magnetic and piezo routing.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Stage or studio rigs that route magnetic and piezo signals independently through the mono/stereo output options.
- Extended-range passages that use all eight strings across the 25.5-to-27-inch multi-scale fingerboard.
- Dark-stage playing where glow-in-the-dark side dots improve fretboard visibility.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players seeking a six- or seven-string guitar.
- Left-handed players.
