Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The 18 x 14-inch Yamaha Field-Corps model is a marching bass drum for indoor and outdoor use. Its 7-ply maple shell is designed to balance a deep, resonant foundation with a solid attack, so entrances remain clearly defined. The 14-inch-deep shell keeps the profile relatively slim for a mobile marching instrument, and this version is finished in Black Forest. It is a focused choice when this exact diameter and depth suit the part.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Indoor and outdoor marching-percussion parts that need clear attacks over resonant bass response.
- Programs using an 18 x 14-inch bass drum within a mobile percussion setup.
- High-tension tuning situations that call for consistent adjustment hardware.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Marching setups that require a bass drum size other than 18 x 14 inches.
